Drinking Responsibly During the Holidays
The holiday season is a time to enjoy family dinners, office parties, and get-togethers with friends. Festive drinks and tasty punches often contribute to the holiday revelry, so here are some tips to help you celebrate sensibly:
Source: http://theonion.com/3949/tips.html
- If you are a woman, remember: Women are more sensitive to the effects of alcohol. If you are a man, remember: Women are more sensitive to the effects of alcohol.
- Always drink from the bottle labeled "XXX." The bottle with the skull-and-crossbones on the front is poison.
- Drinking alone is a telltale sign that you know better than to put up with anybody's bullshit.
- Drinking more than seven nights a week is not just irresponsible, it's impossible.
- If someone you know is too drunk to drive, demand that he let you have his car keys. If he refuses, pull out a gun and demand the car keys again. This also works with people who are not drunk, and whom you do not know.
- Never drink with Tyler Schneeklov.
- While standing in the middle of the road at 3 a.m. yelling expletives at your ex-girlfriend, wear light-colored clothing so motorists can see you.
- Once you get married and have kids, stop drinking tons of whiskey and switch to drinking tons of wine.
- Always re-cap your flask between swigs. This lengthens the amount of time between drinks.
- Don't mix alcohol with stereotypes. If you are Irish, drink rum. If you are a pirate, drink whiskey.
- Don't drink and drive. Disregard this if you happen to be one of those people who drive better drunk.
- If you suddenly find yourself impaired by alcohol, prevent any social awkwardness by informing all those present that you profoundly love them, and that you never get this drunk.
- Never use alcohol to escape feelings of failure and loneliness. Use Vicodin.
- Before heading out to the office holiday party, tape a handcuff key to the inside of your watchband. Just trust us on this one.

What NOT to do during "Return of the King."
1. Stand up halfway through the movie and yell loudly, "Wait... where the hell is Harry Potter?"
2. Block the entrance to the theater while screaming: "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" - After the movie, say "Lucas could have done it better."
3. Play a drinking game where you have to take a sip every time someone says: "The Ring."
4. Point and laugh whenever someone dies.
5. Ask everyone around you if they think Gandalf went to Hogwarts.
6. Finish off every one of Elrond's lines with "Mr. Anderson."
7. When Aragorn is crowned king, stand up and at the top of your lungs sing, "And I did it.... MY way...!"
8. Talk like Gollum all through the movie. At the end, bite off someone's finger and fall down the stairs.
9. Dress up as old ladies and reenact "The Battle of Helms Deep" Monty Python style.
10. When Denethor lights the fire, shout "Barbecue!"
11. In TTT when the Ents decide to march to war, stand up and shout "RUN FOREST, RUN!"
12. Every time someone kills an Orc, yell: "That's what I'm Tolkien about!" See how long it takes before you get kicked out of the theatre.
13. During a wide shot of a battle, inquire, "Where's Waldo?"
14. Talk loudly about how you heard that there is a single frame of a nude Elf hidden somewhere in the movie.
15. Start an Orc sing-a-long.
16. Come to the premiere dressed as Frankenfurter and wander around looking terribly confused.
17. When they go in the paths of the dead, wait for tense moment and shout, "I see dead people!"
18. Imitate what you think a conversation between Gollum, Dobby and Yoda would be like.
19. Release a jar of daddy-long-legs into the theater during the Shelob scene.
20. Wonder out loud if Aragorn is going to run for governor of California.
21. When Shelob comes on, exclaim, "Man! Charlotte's really let herself go!"

Three Texas surgeons were playing golf together
and discussing the miraculas surgeries
they had performed.
One of them said, "I'm the best surgeon in Texas.
A concert pianist lost 7 fingers in an accident,
I reattached them, and 8 months later he performed a
private concert for the Queen of England."
One of the others said. "That's nothing. A young man
lost both arms and legs in an accident, I re-attached
them, and 2 years later he won a gold medal in field
events in the Olympics."
The third surgeon said, "You guys are amateurs.
Several years ago a cowboy who was high on
cocaine and alcohol rode a horse head-on into a train
traveling 80 miles an hour. All I had left to work with was
the horse's ass and a cowboy hat. Now he's president
of the United States."

Smith climbs to the top of Mt. Sinai to get close enough to talk to God. Looking up, he asks the Lord. . . "God, what does a million years mean to you?" The Lord replies, "A minute." Smith asks, "And what does a million dollars mean to you?" The Lord replies, "A penny." Smith asks," Can I have a penny?" The Lord replies, "In a minute".

1. Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone.

11. If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.
12. Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
13. If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
14. If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.
15. Some days you are the bug; some days you are the windshield.
16. Don't worry; it only seems kinky the first time.

...as an atheist that makes me even more sure that there is no need for a superior being...
Does it get depressing?
A lot of it is extremely depressing. But huge amounts of it are exhilarating or downright hilarious, because of the levels of human absurdity that you encounter in desperate situations. You see incredibly inspiring things: people who for no conceivable reason will show the most extraordinary generosity, the most extraordinary kindness, the most extraordinary humanity, when it is against their interests to do so. I am always struck by how people in the worst situations transcend the limitations of humankind and become god-like in their abilities to do inspirational and extraordinary things - and as an atheist that makes me even more sure that there is no need for a superior being.

Interview with Roger Ebert
Let me tell you a story. The day after Columbine, I was interviewed for the Tom Brokaw news program. The reporter had been assigned a theory and was seeking sound bites to support it. "Wouldn't you say," she asked, "that killings like this are influenced by violent movies?" No, I said, I wouldn't say that. "But what about 'Basketball Diaries'?" she asked. "Doesn't that have a scene of a boy walking into a school with a machine gun?" The obscure 1995 Leonardo Di Caprio movie did indeed have a brief fantasy scene of that nature, I said, but the movie failed at the box office (it grossed only $2.5 million), and it's unlikely the Columbine killers saw it.
The reporter looked disappointed, so I offered her my theory. "Events like this," I said, "if they are influenced by anything, are influenced by news programs like your own. When an unbalanced kid walks into a school and starts shooting, it becomes a major media event. Cable news drops ordinary programming and goes around the clock with it. The story is assigned a logo and a theme song; these two kids were packaged as the Trench Coat Mafia. The message is clear to other disturbed kids around the country: If I shoot up my school, I can be famous. The TV will talk about nothing else but me. Experts will try to figure out what I was thinking. The kids and teachers at school will see they shouldn't have messed with me. I'll go out in a blaze of glory."

Proudly showing off his new apartment to a couple of his friends late one night, the drunk led the way to his bedroom where there was a big brass gong.
"What's that big brass gong?" one of the guests asked.
"It's not a gong. It's a talking clock," the drunk replied.
"A talking clock? Seriously? asked his astonished friend.
"Yup," replied the drunk.
"How's it work?" the 2nd guest asked, squinting at it.
"Watch," the drunk replied. He picked up a hammer, gave it an ear-shattering pound and stepped back.
The three stood looking at one another for a moment.
Suddenly, someone on the other side of the wall screamed: "You jerk.............. it's ten past three in the morning!"

From ~kaliqo and her friend martin:
Billy Connolly's - 14 things I hate about everybody........
1. People who point at their wrist while asking for the time.... I know where my watch is pal, where the f*ck is yours? Do I point at my crotch when I ask where the toilet is?
2. People who are willing to get off their arse to search the entire room for the TV remote because they refuse to walk to the TV and change the channel manually.
3. When people say "Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too". F*cking right! What good is a cake if you can't eat it?
4. When people say "it's always the last place you look". Of course it is. Why the f*ck would you keep looking after you've found it? Do people do this? Who and where are they?
5. When people say while watching a film "did you see that?". No tosser, I paid 10 quid to come to the cinema and stare at the f*cking floor.
6. People who ask "Can I ask you a question?". Didn't really give me a choice there, did you sunshine?
7. When something is 'new and improved!'. Which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it.
8. When people say "life is short". What the f*ck?? Life is the longest damn thing anyone ever f*cking does!! What can you do that's longer?
9. When you are waiting for the bus and someone asks, "Has the bus come yet?". If the bus came would I be standing here, Kn*bhead?
10. People who say things like 'My eyes aren't what they used to be'. So what did they used to be? Ears, Wellington boots, huh?
11. When you're eating something and someone asks 'Is that nice?' No it's really revolting - I always eat stuff I hate.
12. People who announce they are going to the toilet. Thanks that's an image I really didn't need.
13. McDonalds staff who pretend they don't understand you unless you insert the 'Mc' before the item you are ordering..... It's has to be a McChicken Burger, just a Chicken Burger get blank looks. Well I'll have a McStraw and jam it in your McEyes you f*cking McTosser.
14. When you involved in a accident and someone asks 'are you alright?' Yes fine thanks, I'll just pick up my limbs and be off.

Ecstacy is all you need
Living in the big machine now
Oh, you're so vain
Now your world is way too fast
Nothin's real and nothing lasts
And I'm aware
I'm in love but you don't care
Turn your anger into lust
I'm still here, but you don't trust at all
And I'll be waiting
Love and sex and loneliness
Take what's yours and leave the rest
So I'll survive
God, it's good to be alive
And I'm torn in pieces
I'm lyin there waiting for
My heart is reeling
I'm blind and waiting for you
Silly love with all your sins
Wait and stop and I begin
And I'll - I'll be waitin'
Livin' like a house on fire
What you fear is your desire
It's hard to deal
I still love the way you feel
Now this angry little girl
Drownin in this petty world
And I'm who you run to
Swallow all your bitter pills
That's what makes you beautiful
You're all a lie
I won't leave what you ain't got
I'm blind and waiting for you
I'm blind and waiting for you
And I can't believe it's coming true
God, it's good to be alive
I'm still here and waitin' for you

| What Irrational Number Are You? | |||
You are e Of all the irrational numbers, you are the most intense. By nature you are powerful, although sometimes you can spiral out of control. You are good with money; the interest seems to just compound whenever you are near. When someone uses the word "exponential" they are probably talking about you. In some ways you and φ are a nearly perfect match. Not to mention how attractive φ is. But then, there is the remarkable π... Your lucky number is approximately 2.71828183 | |||

to a friend in need. this is for you. i hope.
Your life has seemed so hard
It's been dried up
Angels that can't keep guard
I'm trying to reach your hand
But I'm on fire
I never planned to fade away
Stay with me
Stop pretending
When they say that your nothing
Are you sad, are you holding yourself
You shouldn't be
Are you sad, are you locked in your room
You shouldn't be
I'm drowning inside your head
Help me to answer
Help understand
But its been so long
Since we talked like friends
Please forgive me
I'm just a man
Whose made
Mistakes

Free Ringtones!
OK. As long as you live in North America and have a cell phone that can receive SMS messages, this can benefit you.
I have this little program that can generate and compose ringtones and convert them to SMS messages.
So, I'm offering you free ringtones. Just gimmie the name of the song you want, your phone number. your phone brand and model and I'll send it to you at some point.
CHECK to make sure your phone is supported first. Update: I can only give you key in and SMS. So if your phone only supports WAP, u're outta luck
The only cost to you is maybe receiving the SMS message. Check your cellular plan to see if you can receive SMS messages for free.
(Realize, it usually costs money to get ringtones)

From ma sista:
It's not the fault of the student if he/she fails, because there are only
365 days in the year.
Typical academic year for a student.
1) Sundays - 52. There are 52 Sundays in a year, which are days of rest
according to the Christian religion, which in this PC era we cannot afford to deny to them. Everyone else may claim also.
Balance: 365 - 52 = 313 days.
2) Summer holidays. 50 days, (more or less depending on regional variants) where the weather is incredibly hot, rendering it physically impossible to study.
Balance: 263 days.
3) 8 hours daily sleep, the required hours for peak mental and physical health adds to a total of 122 days.
Balance: 141 days.
4) 1 hour a day for play, or physical activity, necessary to stimulate blood flow for both mind and body means 15 days total.
Balance: 126 days.
5) Two hours daily for food and other delicacies (chew properly to aid digestion and swallowing) means 30 days.
Balance: 96 days.
6) 1 hour for talking a day, for a total of 15 days. (man is a social animal you know)
Balance: 81 days.
7) Exam days per year at least 35.
Balance: 46 days.
8) Quarterly, half-yearly and festival holidays - approximately 40 if we are to celebrate our religious diversity and recognise the relevance of religions other than Christianity.
Balance: 6 days.
9) Allow three days for possible sickness.
Balance: 3 days.
10) Movies and necessary functions (ie, afternoon at Grandparents, time spent in court) at least 2 days.
Balance: 1 day.
11) That one day is your birthday, recognised worldwide as a day when you don't have to do anything if you don't want to!!!
HOW ON EARTH ARE WE MEANT TO SUCCEED WHEN THE WORLD SETS US UP FOR FAILURE?!?

The Top 12 Things Overheard from Klingon Programmers
(Only geeks will fully appreciate this)
12) "Specifications are for the weak and timid!"
11) "This machine is a piece of GAGH! I need dual Pentium processors if I am to do battle with this code!"
10) "You cannot really appreciate Dilbert unless you've read it in the original Klingon."
9) "Indentation?! - I will show you how to indent when I indent your skull!"
8) "What is this talk of 'release'? Klingons do not make software 'releases'. Our software 'escapes' leaving a bloody trail of designers and quality assurance people in its wake."
7) "Klingon function calls do not have 'parameters' - they have 'arguments' - and they ALWAYS WIN THEM."
6) "Debugging? Klingons do not debug. Our software does not coddle the weak."
5) "I have challenged the entire quality assurance team to a Bat-Leth contest. They will not concern us again."
4) "A TRUE Klingon Warrior does not comment his code!"
3) "By filing this bug report you have challenged the honor of my family. Prepare to die!"
2) "You question the worthiness of my code? I should kill you where you stand!"
1) "Our users will know fear and cower before our software! Ship it! Ship it and let them flee like the dogs they are!"
(Only geeks will fully appreciate this)

To all my family and friends, old and new, I wish you all enough...
This is wonderful.... share it with someone who is special in your life!
At an airport, I overheard a father and his daughter in their last moments together. They had announced her plane's departure and
standing near the door she said, "Daddy, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough too,
Daddy."
They kissed good-bye and she left. He walked over towards the window where I was seated. Standing there I could see he wanted and needed to cry.
I tried not to intrude on his privacy, but he welcomed me in by asking, "Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?"
"Yes, I have," I replied. Saying that brought back memories I had of expressing my love and appreciation for all my Dad had done for me. Recognizing that his days were limited, I took the time to tell him face to face how much he meant to me. So I knew what this man was experiencing.
"Forgive me for asking, but why is this a forever good-bye?" I asked. "I am old and she lives much too far away. I have challenges ahead and the reality is, her next trip back will be for my funeral," he said.
"When you were saying good-bye I heard you say, 'I wish you enough, may I ask what that means?"
He began to smile. "That's a wish that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone."
He paused for a moment and looking up as if trying to remember it in detail, he smiled even more. "When we said, 'I wish you enough,' we were wanting the other person to have a life filled with enough good things to sustain them"
He continued and then, turning toward me, he shared the following as if he were reciting it from memory:
I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough "Hellos" to get you through the final "Good-bye"
He then began to sob and walked away.
My friends and loved ones, I wish you enough. They say, "It takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but an entire lifetime to forget them"
Send this phrase to the people you'll never forget and also remember to send it to the person who sent it to you. It's a short message to let them know that you'll never forget them.
If you don't send it to anyone, it means that you're in a hurry and you need to slow down to enjoy what is around you, the people around you.
I wish you enough.

I can't be losing sleep
Over this, no I can't
And now I can not stop pacing
Give me a few hours
I'll have this all sorted out
If my mind would just stop racing
Cause I can not stand still
I can't be this unsturdy
This cannot be happening
This is over my head
But underneath my feet
Cause by tomorrow morning
I'll have this thing beat
And everything will be back to the way that it was
I wish that it was just that easy
(chorus)
Cause I'm waiting for tonight
Then waiting for tomorrow
And I'm somewhere in between
What is real and just a dream
What is real and just a dream
What is real and just a dream
Would you catch me if I fall out of what I fell in
Don't be surprised if I collapse
Down at your feet again
I don't want to run away from this
I know that I just don't need this
Cause I can not stand still
I can't be this unsturdy
This cannot be happening
(repeat chorus)
What is real and just a dream
Over this, no I can't

She said I don't know if I've ever been good enough
I'm a little bit rusty, and I think my head is caving in
And I don't know if I've ever been really loved
By a hand that's touched me, well I feel like something's
Gonna give
And I'm a little bit angry, well
This ain't over, no not here, not while I still need you
Around
You don't owe me, we might change
Yeah we just might feel good
[chorus]
I wanna push you around, I will, I will
I wanna push you down, I will, I will
I wanna take you for granted, I wanna take you for granted
I will
She said I don't know why you ever would lie to me
Like I'm a little untrusting when I think that the truth is
Gonna hurt ya
And I don't know why you couldn't just stay with me
You couldn't stand to be near me
When my face don't seem to want to shine
Cuz it's a little bit dirty well
Don't just stand there, say nice things to me
I've been cheated I've been wronged, and you
You don't know me, I can't change
I won't do anything at all
[chorus]
Oh but don't bowl me over
Just wait a minute well it kinda fell apart, things get so
Crazy, crazy
Don't rush this baby, don't rush this baby
[chorus]
I'm a little bit rusty, and I think my head is caving in
And I don't know if I've ever been really loved
By a hand that's touched me, well I feel like something's

This ain't over, no not here, not while I still need you
Around
You don't owe me, we might change
Yeah we just might feel good
[chorus]
I wanna push you around, I will, I will
I wanna push you down, I will, I will
I wanna take you for granted, I wanna take you for granted
I will
She said I don't know why you ever would lie to me
Like I'm a little untrusting when I think that the truth is
Gonna hurt ya
And I don't know why you couldn't just stay with me
You couldn't stand to be near me
When my face don't seem to want to shine
Cuz it's a little bit dirty well
Don't just stand there, say nice things to me
I've been cheated I've been wronged, and you
You don't know me, I can't change
I won't do anything at all
[chorus]
Oh but don't bowl me over
Just wait a minute well it kinda fell apart, things get so
Crazy, crazy
Don't rush this baby, don't rush this baby
[chorus]

Christine’s depression never seems to end
Cause She’ll never be as skinny as the girls on ‘Friends’
She got fat hips and thin lips, she’s jealous of a Q-tip
She’d take stupid over fat
She stuck her fingers down her throat for the very last time today
And she walked away
Malcolm’s got his image
His rock and his Glock
If he lives to see 20 he will have beat the clock
He’s got his ride and his pride and girls by his side
He makes his stand with the gun in his hand
He saw his best friend lying on a stainless steel tray
And he walked away
And the destinations clear …anywhere but here
It Doesn’t matter that you’re lying in the gutter
It Doesn’t matter that your brain’s all cluttered
It Doesn’t matter that you’re covered in scars
You’re never in the gutter with your eyes on the stars
So Walk away from the boyfriend bruises
And the shame of the game that your brain knows you’re losing
And the job that you do it just robs you of who
You can be when you’re free from this mentality
So you're home by the phone getting stoned all alone
With your chatroom friends, your Korn and Ramones
But the phone don’t ring and Joey just sings ‘Sedated’
You gotta learn to hate it
It Doesn’t matter that you’re lying in the gutter
It Doesn’t matter that your brain’s on all cluttered
It Doesn’t matter that you’re covered in scars

Man Cuts Off Own Penis to Cure Sex Addiction
Fri Aug 15,10:33 AM ET
BERLIN (Reuters) - A German cut off his own penis with a kitchen knife to cure his addiction to sex, police in the southern town of Tiengen said on Friday.
"The man called a friend around eight o'clock to say he'd done something stupid," police said in a statement. He had been drinking vodka to pluck up courage for the amateur surgery.
Police arrived to discover the blood-soaked man, 41, in his apartment and his organ under the kitchen table. Emergency services rushed the man and his penis to a nearby hospital.
Police said the man did not want his penis to be reattached but were unable to say if doctors had complied with his wishes.

woooo... power is back on finally ;)
coolest stuff that happened:
- people being so nice to each other
- a civilian directing traffic with a jacket on that said "Metropolitian POLICE" on the back and in really small letters under it, "Washington D.C."
- actually sitting down with family (abiet just starring at each other most of the time)
- my mother encouraging my brother to join in on the card gambling
- got off work early on thursday
- no work friday! (well, they DID get power back but i just decided not to go oops)
- seeing Mars, the stars, and the moon
- the candles... so neat...
not so cool:
- hour drive (normally takes 15-20 min) in traffic home with low gas and being afraid i wouldn't get home
- heat... SO freakin hot
- so bored....
- stupid bugs and birds making noise outside at 6am
- on the radio: some woman got charged $100 for a taxi that took her a distance of one block
- on the radio: gas station that charged 99.9 cents per litre
- on the radio: people looting Future Shop
- retarded finger pointing by US and Canada at each other
what I'm really curious is... what exactly happened that caused such a huge outage? that would cascade down all over the place...

I had the weirest dream two nights ago. It wasn't exactly what the dream was about. Hell, I don't even really remember what it is about anymore. But the point is, is that sometime during the dream, I got hurt. Now, it is believed by many that it is not possible to feel pain in a dream. I believe this because I can't remember the last time I got hurt in a dream and actually felt real pain. But this particular night, I sorta did. I say sorta cuz it wasn't really real pain. Instead of actually feeling the pain, my mind filled the gap and forced me to react like I felt pain. Like, if I put my hand on a hot stove in my dream, I would flinch and remove my hand from the stove. And I would go "Ow, that's hot!" but I would never actually feel any pain. It was like an automatic reaction to what I have grown up to know SHOULD cause pain.
This sorta got me thinking. Maybe sometimes, the pain that we feel arn't actually there.
anyways, I'm BSing. LOL. I'll shut up now.

Flash mobs: a new social phenomenon?
Is it performance art or the ultimate surprise party? A social phenomenon known as the 'flash mob', which began in New York and relies on e-mail, appears to be spreading worldwide.
Using mass e-mailing, the organisers bring together what their invitations describe as 'inexplicable mobs' - large crowds that materialise in public places and suddenly dissipate 10 minutes later.
Since the first flash mob was organised in Manhattan in May, by a mischievous underground group called the Mob Project, the practise has already spread to other U.S. cities, while plans are being drawn up for events in London, Rome and Vienna.
The concept's creator, a shadowy figure known only as Bill, started off by e-mailing 50 friends to gather at a retail store in downtown Manhattan. The plan was foiled after the store was tipped off, forcing Bill to introduce an element of subterfuge.
For mob number two, participants were asked to gather in advance in one of several bars and only then were handed a leaflet detailing the target - Macy's department store.
More than 100 people suddenly appeared on Macy's home furnishing floor and, as instructed by the leaflet, began discussing whether to purchase a 'love rug' for their fictitious commune. To the bewilderment of the sales staff, the crowd then melted away as quickly as it had formed.
As Bill's e-mail pool has expanded, so has the size of the gatherings. Mob number three saw nearly 200 people flood the lobby of the swanky Hyatt Hotel and erupt into synchronised applause in front of bemused guests, while number four involved the invasion of a shoe boutique in Soho with participants pretending to be hick tourists from the southern U.S. state of Maryland on a bus trip.
"It's a spectacle for spectacle's sake - which is silly, but is also, as I've discovered somewhat to my surprise, genuinely transgressive, which is part of its appeal, I think," said the mysterious Bill in an e-mail exchange. "People feel like there's nothing but order everywhere, and so they love to be a part of just one thing that nobody was expecting."
A spokesman for the New York police department was wary about commenting on the legality of the mobs, but said the police would intervene only if there was criminal intent. For the most recent event, on July 24, one group gathered in an Irish bar, trying vainly to act casual as they loitered around the jukebox mentioned in the invitation.
"Are you with the mob?" whispered one anxious first-timer, only to be shushed with a knowing nod and wink, followed by a nervous giggle. A Mob Project representative surreptitiously handed out instruction leaflets, guiding that group and others to a grassy knoll in Central Park, opposite the American Museum of Natural History.
The mob began at 7:18 pm precisely - the 300-plus participants having synchronised watches with a time zone website - and the surreal instructions were followed to the letter:
· For the first three minutes, make as little noise as possible. If you can make a realistic bird call, you may occasionally do so.
· By 7:21 pm, you may make all bird calls, unrealistic or no.
· By 7:23 pm, you may also mumble, 'bird noise'.
· By 7:25 pm, you may also call out, "Nature here! Come get some nature," to passers-by.
· At 7:26 pm, chant "Na-ture" for 20 seconds, cheer and disperse.
"It was over before I could work out whether it was really clever or really dumb. But either way I kind of enjoyed it," said Lorien Poole, 24, who was e-mailed by a friend.
Just a few hours later, the event was the subject of heated discussion on several website chatrooms devoted to the flash mob trend. "It seems to me that while this is all fun, harmless and interesting for now, that it is just a matter of time before a fight breaks out and the mob becomes a riot," wrote one pessimistic participant.
Bill has made it clear he intends to wind up the project before it gets out of hand, although the concept appears to be taking on a life of its own.
San Francisco, Minneapolis and Phoenix have all staged their own events, while the first European mob took place this week in Rome, when 300 people entered a music and bookstore and asked for non-existent titles. The idea has also been adopted and given a more political agenda by other groups.
In Detroit, a group of gays and lesbians organise the 'Detroit Guerrilla Queer Bar', which targets a local straight restaurant or bar for 'swarming' on a designated night. And in Boston, Reggie Cummings, a black software developer, coordinates 'friendly takeovers' by crowds of black yuppies of downtown bars with a traditionally white clientele.

Quote: "Do we as people get unhappy because of us ourselves, or because of whats around us. People blame the world for our misery, but the world is not whats unhappy, it is us. We make the equation negetive because we choose to. We find it logical to abide by the governing principles of basic arithmatic. This world is not a blackboard. The equations dont fit."

How many times have you been pushed around
Is anybody there, does anybody care
And how many times have your friends let you down
Is anybody there, did anybody stare, oh
And how many times have your friends let you down
Just open up your heart
Just open up your mind
And how many times has your faith slipped away
Well is anybody safe, does anybody pray
Chorus:
Oh, life is waiting for you
It's all messed up, but we're alive
Oh, life is waiting for you
It's all messed up, but we'll survive
And how many days have you just slept away
Is everybody high, is everyone afraid
And how many times have you wished you were strong
Have they ever seen your heart
Have they ever seen your pain
Chorus
She gets high, she gets lost
She gets drowned by the cost
Twice a day, every week, and all her life
She gets high, she gets lost
She gets drowned by the cost
Twice a day, every week, and all her life
Chorus
Oh, life is waiting for you
It's all messed up but we're alive

"I've never understood why women love cats.
Cats are independent, they don't listen,
they don't come in when you call, they like
to stay out all night, come home and expect
to be fed and stroked, then want to be left
alone and sleep. In other words, every quality
that women hate in a man, they love in a cat."

Man cuts off penis, eats it.
13jul03
A MALAYSIAN man sliced off his own penis, then fried and ate it after taking hallucinatory pills that caused him to hear voices urging him to mutilate himself, police said today.
The 34-year-old man claimed he only realised what he had done when he saw blood oozing from his crotch, said a police spokesman in the town of Sitiawan, 300km north of Kuala Lumpur.
The man had taken hallucinatory pills before sleeping on Friday and awoke hearing voices telling him to chop off his penis and devour it, the spokesman said on customary condition of anonymity.
He was hospitalised in stable condition, the national news agency Bernama reported.
The man had recently been released from a drug rehabilitation centre, Bernama said.

I dunno if they were doing it on purpose or not but I saw a bunch of ricers (supped up cheap Hondas and what not) driving down the road today. They were THE worst drivers ever. There must have been like 5 of them or something but they kept changing lanes for no reason, and whenever they changed lanes, they would slow down to almost a crawl before changing a lane. And then they would floor it for like half a second before making another lane change. Not to mention I was stuck behind these idiots. Maybe it was cuz none of the drivers were Asians. But hell, as if supping up a car isn't stupid enough, they can't even drive for their life.

I was standing in line behind six people at the Refund counter at Home Depot today. This old man walks in and lines up behind me. Looks around and sees a desk with forms with a sign that said "Refund forms". This is his monologue:
"Do I have to fill in one of those forms to return stuff?"
"What a stupid... forms... what the hell!"
"Shit!"
"Oh my God, this is gonna take forever..."
"What a stupid line..."
"Is this two lines or one?"
"Shit what the hell..."
...
And this continued for the whole 10 minutes it took to wait his turn.

Our Lady Peace - Are You Sad
...
You guys are all real people out there right?
Real people have real problems and a problem....
I find that a lot of people is, usually, at some point in their lives there's a person very close to you that you love that needs help.
And the problem is that usually, when the time this person needs the most help, is the time when they don't want your help.

Forgive me for I've yet to forgive myself
To the people I put blame on
Weather they knew it or not
I'm sorry.
It was out of desperation
I realize I can't blame you
When it really was just all me
Like now
Like everyday
I'm sorry.
For myself and for you.

House of 1000 Corpses. What a crappy movie. There is a vague storyline. It's disturbing (I guess... not really). And it's not scary at all. One of THE worst scary movies I've ever seen.
28 Days Later wasn't all that good either. Stupid Eric. And he made it sound so good. BAH.
Two crappy suppositly "scary" movies in one night. I give up. This sucks.

The other day, I was driving along downtown. I'm stopped at this stoplight when I look out the side of my car and I see this really fat kid walking with a huge drum stick in his hands and munching away at it.
Now. I generally have nothing against fat people. I have the same respect for them as every other human being. But this kid is fat. Fat to the point where it is disgusting (trust me on this one). And he doesn't even try to stop eating. WTF is wrong with these people?! Watch, like when he is 18, he'll have a heart attack trying to move from the couch to the fridge and then who will be paying for his hospital bills? US!
Gluttony at it's best.

All day staring at the ceiling
Making friends with shadows on my wall
All night hearing voices telling me
That I should get some sleep
Because tomorrow might be good for something
Hold on
Feeling like I'm headed for a breakdown
And I don't know why
But I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell
I know right now you can't tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired
I know right now you don't care
But soon enough you're gonna think of me
And how I used to be...me
I'm talking to myself in public
Dodging glances on the train
And I know, I know they've all been talking about me
I can hear them whisper
And it makes me think there must be something wrong with me
Out of all the hours thinking
Somehow I've lost my mind
But I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell
I know right now you can't tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired
I know right now you don't care
But soon enough you're gonna think of me
And how I used to be
I've been talking in my sleep
Pretty soon they'll come to get me
Yeah, they're taking me away
But I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell
I know right now you can't tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired
I know right now you don't care

And how I used to be
Yeah, how I used to be
How I used to be
Well, I'm just a little unwell
How I used to be
How I used to be
I'm just a little unwell
It's gonna start...
A man came home from work, sat down in his favorite chair, turned on the TV, and said to his wife, "Quick, bring me a beer before it starts." She looked a little puzzled, but brought him a beer. When he finished it, he said, "Quick, bring me another beer. It's gonna start." This time she looked a little angry, but brought him a beer. When it was gone, he said, Quick, another beer before it starts." That's it!" She blows her top, "You bastard! You waltz in here, flop your fat ass down, don't even say hello to me and then expect me to run around like your slave. Don't you realize that I cook and clean and wash and iron all day long?" The husband sighed. " Oh shit, it's started."

What did you think,
I would do at this moment,
When you're standing before me,
With tears in your eyes..
Tryin to tell me that you,
Found you another..
And you just don't love me, No more..
What did you think,
I would say at this moment,
When I'm faced with the knowledge,
That you just don't love me..
Did you think I would curse you,
Or say things to hurt you,
Cause you just don't love me no more..
Did you think I could hate you,
Or raise my hands to you,
Now come on you know me too well..
How could I hurt you,
When darling I love you,
And you know, I'd never hurt you..
What do you think,
I would give at this moment,
If you stay I'd subtract twenty years from my life..
I'd fall down on my knees,
Kiss the ground that you walk on,
If I could just hold you again..
I'd fall down on my knees,
Kiss the ground that you walk on baby,
If I could just hold you..
If I, Could just, Hold you..
If I....If I could just hold you.
Again.
